Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 3.4 percent in June 2024. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.0 percent. The region's June 2024 unemployment rate was 0.1 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 1,096,445, up 6,968 (+0.6 percent) over the year. There were 36,805 unemployed residents in the region.
- In June 2024, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Deerfield Beach MD was 925,500, an increase of 21,100 jobs (+2.3 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+5,100 jobs); Education and Health Services (+4,400 jobs); Government (+4,200 jobs); Other Services (+4,100 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+1,800 jobs); Construction (+1,700 jobs); and Professional and Business Services (+1,100 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 3.5 percent in June 2024. This rate was 0.3 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.2 percent. The region's June 2024 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 780,814, up 1,521 (+0.2 percent) over the year. There were 27,630 unemployed residents in the region.
- In June 2024, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 695,000, an increase of 13,600 jobs (+2.0 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+6,000 jobs); Construction (+3,400 jobs); Government (+2,200 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+1,800 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+1,100 jobs); and Manufacturing (+700 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.7 percent in June 2024. This rate was 0.8 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 1.9 percent. The region's June 2024 unemployment rate was 0.8 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 1,394,219, up 30,037 (+2.2 percent) over the year. There were 36,947 unemployed residents in the region.
- In June 2024, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,325,900, an increase of 38,000 jobs (+3.0 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Leisure and Hospitality (+8,400 jobs); Education and Health Services (+8,200 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+8,100 jobs); Mining, Logging, and Construction (+5,800 jobs); Government (+2,900 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+2,500 jobs); Other Services (+1,000 jobs); Financial Activities (+600 jobs); and Manufacturing (+500 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.3 percent in June 2024, unchanged from the May 2024 rate, and up 0.5 percentage point from a year ago. There were 361,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,068,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in June.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 9,961,900 in June 2024, an increase of 9,900 jobs (+0.1 percent) over the month. The state gained 196,900 jobs over the year, an increase of 2.0 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 1.7 percent over the year.
- Nine of ten major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in June.
