Below is the latest data released by FloridaCommerce for Broward County's March 2025 unemployment rate. Also included is information for the South Florida area.



Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 3.3 percent in March 2025. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.9 percent. The region's March 2025 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 1,086,217, up 3,739 (+0.3 percent) over the year. There were 35,362 unemployed residents in the region.
- In March 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 932,900, an increase of 8,400 jobs (+0.9 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+3,800 jobs); Education and Health Services (+2,400 jobs); Government (+2,100 jobs); Other Services (+1,700 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+1,500 jobs); and Manufacturing (+400 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 3.4 percent in March 2025. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.0 percent. The region's March 2025 unemployment rate was 0.1 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 778,376, down 2,564 (-0.3 percent) over the year. There were 26,680 unemployed residents in the region.
- In March 2025, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 707,600, an increase of 1,900 jobs (+0.3 percent) over the year
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+5,500 jobs); Government (+1,800 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+600 jobs); Construction (+400 jobs); Manufacturing (+200 jobs); and Financial Activities (+100 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.8 percent in March 2025. This rate was 0.5 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.3 percent. The region's March 2025 unemployment rate was 0.7 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 1,424,102, down 17,277 (- 1.2 percent) over the year. There were 39,680 unemployed residents in the region.
- In March 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,354,400, an increase of 21,200 jobs (+1.6 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+9,100 jobs); Education and Health Services (+5,400 jobs); Mining, Logging, and Construction (+3,100 jobs); Government (+1,800 jobs); Financial Activities (+1,100 jobs); Manufacturing (+600 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+600 jobs); and Other Services (+500 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.6 percent in March 2025, unchanged from the February 2025 rate, and up 0.4 percentage point from a year ago. There were 403,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,198,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in March.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 10,050,000 in March 2025, an increase of 18,100 jobs (+0.2 percent) over the month. The state gained 135,000 jobs over the year, an increase of 1.4 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 1.2 percent over the year.
- All ten major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in March.
