Below is the latest data released by FloridaCommerce for Broward County's February 2025 unemployment rate. Also included is information for the South Florida area.

Broward County¹

  • The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 3.5 percent in February 2025. This rate was 0.5 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.0 percent. The region's February 2025 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.7 percent. The labor force was 1,085,969, up 7,058 (+0.7 percent) over the year. There were 37,760 unemployed residents in the region
  • In February 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano BeachSunrise MD was 933,700, an increase of 8,800 jobs (+1.0 percent) over the year.
  • The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+3,200 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+2,900 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+2,300 jobs); Government (+2,300 jobs); Other Services (+1,900 jobs); Manufacturing (+200 jobs); and Construction (+100 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹

  • The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 3.7 percent in February 2025. This rate was 0.6 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.1 percent. The region's February 2025 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 3.7 percent. The labor force was 776,284, down 2,366 (-0.3 percent) over the year. There were 28,660 unemployed residents in the regio
  • In February 2025, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 706,000, with no change over the year.
  • The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+5,100 jobs); Government (+1,600 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+600 jobs); Construction (+500 jobs); Manufacturing (+300 jobs); and Financial Activities (+200 jobs).

    Miami-Dade County¹

    • The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.6 percent in February 2025. This rate was 0.6 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.0 percent. The region's February 2025 unemployment rate was 1.1 percentage points lower than the state rate of 3.7 percent. The labor force was 1,447,946, down 1,864 (-0.1 percent) over the year. There were 38,224 unemployed residents in the region.
    • In February 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,351,700, an increase of 24,200 jobs (+1.8 percent) over the year.
