WORKSHOP OF THE MONTH: ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ SOFT SKILLS: BODY & MIND

October 1, 2024 | Filed under: CareerSource Broward News

What are “soft skills” and how do they impact you?

Soft Skills are a number of non-technical skills related to how you operate in any workplace and interact with others professionally.  Hiring managers often find that job applicants may be qualified based on their abilities and education, but their lack of soft skills prevents them from getting hired.  Additionally, employers often state that workers fail in their positions due to poor soft skills.

In this workshop, we will focus on Physical Soft Skills (the ways we prepare our bodies and appearance for work, including the ways we dress, move, and live) and Cognitive Soft Skills (the brain work at your job, from thinking and remembering to organizing and innovating).  This fast-paced, interactive class will help you determine which soft skills you have mastered and which ones you may want to improve.

When do tone and body language affect your job success?  Why does lifestyle health influence your workplace performance?  What are some strategies for decision making and problem solving?  How does creative thinking lead to innovation?  Which planning/organization methods are right for you?

Our professional workshop facilitators are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience to provide exceptional tools for helping job seekers get ahead.  The “Soft Skills: Body & Mindworkshop is held both virtually (alternate Fridays at 1pm) and in person at no cost to you.  To see the times for the in-person workshops in our 3 centers, or to register for any of our other workshops, please visit:
