NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WORKFORCE BOARDS APPOINTS CAREERSOURCE BROWARD PRESIDENT/CEO CAROL HYLTON AS BOARD MEMBER
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. During its Annual Member Meeting in Washington D.C., the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) proudly announced the appointment of CareerSource Broward President/CEO Carol Hylton to the organization’s Board of Directors.
Representing nearly 600 workforce development boards from across the country, NAWB works closely with policy makers in Washington, D.C., to develop national strategies related to the public workforce system, while also supporting the needs of education, economic development, labor and business partners. As a member of the Board of Directors, Hylton will work alongside 24 other distinguished workforce industry leaders from throughout the nation to administer effective local and regional workforce programs that meet the needs of job seekers, career seekers, employers, and communities.
“Along with helping to bridge the gap between employers that are in need of qualified talent and those seeking employment or career training resources, local workforce boards play such a pivotal role within our communities, especially when it comes to navigating a rapidly changing economy," said Heiko Dobrikow, Chair of the Broward Workforce Development Board Inc. and General Manager and Executive Vice President of The Riverside Hotel & Las Olas Company. "This prestigious appointment not only reflects Carol’s unwavering commitment to advancing initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all individuals, but also highlights her incredible leadership and tremendous passion for public service.”
With more than 30 years of experience in both workforce development and organizational management, Hylton serves as President/CEO of CareerSource Broward responsible for overseeing the organization’s $25 million budget, consisting of more than 20 different funding streams.
Throughout her distinguished career, Hylton has been recognized as a subject matter expert on workforce development and policy implementation. She has been featured on MSNBC News, in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and at various community and national forums. Hylton is also a graduate of the Leadership Florida, a statewide community of leaders dedicated not only to their local communities but also to the statewide community of Florida. Leadership Florida develops bonds among Floridians who combine their talents and resources to build an even greater Florida, community by community.
“Being able to collaborate with like-minded, dedicated professionals gives us the opportunity to both better assist businesses and job seekers right here in Broward County and get a first-hand look at some of the workforce challenges other communities are facing,” said Hylton. “It is an honor to join NAWB as a board member.
