Job hunting can be a lonely, stressful, and demoralizing experience. Stress and self-doubt slowly creep in and get worse over time. There is nothing more frustrating than applying for jobs and not getting any response; it feels as if your cover letter and résumé have gone into a black hole.

The solution to job-search depression is not as easy as just sending out more résumés. Even strong candidates aren’t guaranteed success, creating a constant uncertainty of not knowing when the job search will end. Therefore, it is so important that job seekers today understand the current workplace and job market. The simple fact is that we need to enhance our job search skills in order to have a better chance in the competitive, ever-changing job market.

The CareerSource Broward workshop, “Career Pathways,” was designed to motivate and empower job seekers to become employed. With the right tools, anyone can achieve this! This class is your first step in the job search process.  Topics covered include understanding the evolving job market, identifying your skills/accomplishments, learning networking and job search strategies, and writing effective cover letters.
