Below is the latest data released by FloridaCommerce for Broward County's June 2026 unemployment rate. Also included is information for the South Florida area.
Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 4.5 percent in June 2026. This rate was 0.8 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.7 percent. The region's June 2026 unemployment rate was 0.1 percentage point lower than the state rate of 4.6 percent. The labor force was 1,074,697, down 3,903 (-0.4 percent) over the year. There were 48,855 unemployed residents in the region.
- In June 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 909,100, a decrease of 5,000 jobs (-0.5 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+3,000 jobs); Government (+1,300 jobs); and Manufacturing (+200 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 4.6 percent in June 2026. This rate was 0.7 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.9 percent. The region's June 2026 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 4.6 percent. The labor force was 776,104, down 407 (-0.1 percent) over the year. There were 35,593 unemployed residents in the region.
- In June 2026, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 701,200, an increase of 1,500 jobs (+0.2 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+2,500 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+2,000 jobs); Government (+1,200 jobs); Manufacturing (+100 jobs); and Other Services (+100 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 3.0 percent in June 2026. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.6 percent. The region's June 2026 unemployment rate was 1.6 percentage points lower than the state rate of 4.6 percent. The labor force was 1,418,006, down 2,455 (- 0.2 percent) over the year. There were 42,023 unemployed residents in the region.
- In June 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,351,000, an increase of 8,800 jobs (+0.7 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+6,100 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+4,800 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+2,800 jobs); and Leisure and Hospitality (+1,400 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.7 percent in June 2026, down from 4.8 percent in May 2026, and up 0.9 percentage point from a year ago. There were 525,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,139,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in June.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 10,033,300 in June 2026, an increase of 11,100 jobs (+0.1 percent) over the month. The state gained 30,700 jobs over the year, an increase of 0.3 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 0.3 percent over the year.
- Five of ten major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in June.
