Below is the latest data released by FloridaCommerce for Broward County's July 2026 unemployment rate. Also included is information for the South Florida area.
Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 4.6 percent in July 2026. This rate was 0.7 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.9 percent. The region's July 2026 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 4.6 percent. The labor force was 1,067,539, down 8,491 (-0.8 percent) over the year. There were 49,140 unemployed residents in the region.
- In July 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 908,200, a decrease of 400 jobs (>-0.1 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+3,100 jobs); Government (+1,300 jobs); Construction (+1,000 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+600 jobs); and Manufacturing (+300 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 4.8 percent in July 2026. This rate was 0.7 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 4.1 percent. The region's July 2026 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point above the state rate of 4.6 percent. The labor force was 768,882, down 4,133 (-0.5 percent) over the year. There were 36,530 unemployed residents in the region.
- In July 2026, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 697,300, an increase of 3,700 jobs (+0.5 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+2,700 jobs); Government (+1,000 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+600 jobs); Manufacturing (+400 jobs); Other Services (+200 jobs); and Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+100 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.5 percent in July 2026. This rate was 0.4 percentage point lower than the region's year ago rate of 2.9 percent. The region's July 2026 unemployment rate was 2.1 percentage points lower than the state rate of 4.6 percent. The labor force was 1,431,927, up 1,877 (+0.1 percent) over the year. There were 35,636 unemployed residents in the region.
- In July 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,343,400, an increase of 10,800 jobs (+0.8 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+6,400 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+3,900 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+3,500 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+2,700 jobs); Mining, Logging, and Construction (+200 jobs); and Manufacturing (+100 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in July 2026, down 0.1 percentage point from 4.7 percent in June 2026, and up 0.7 percentage point from a year ago. There were 515,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,121,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in July.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 10,037,300 in July 2026, an increase of 4,500 jobs (less than +0.1 percent) over the month. The state gained 41,000 jobs over the year, an increase of 0.4 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 0.2 percent over the year.
- Six of ten major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in July.
