Below is the latest data released by FloridaCommerce for Broward County's July 2025 unemployment rate. Also included is information for the South Florida area.



Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 3.8 percent in July 2025. This rate was 0.2 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.6 percent. The region's July 2025 unemployment rate was 0.3 percentage point lower than the state rate of 4.1 percent. The labor force was 1,094,935, up 3,122 (+0.3 percent) over the year. There were 41,650 unemployed residents in the region.
- In July 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 924,600, an increase of 10,600 jobs (+1.2 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Professional and Business Services (+2,700 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+2,700 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+1,600 jobs); Other Services (+1,600 jobs); Government (+1,500 jobs); Education and Health Services (+1,400 jobs); and Financial Activities (+1,100 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 4.1 percent in July 2025. This rate was 0.3 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.8 percent. The region's July 2025 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 4.1 percent. The labor force was 783,790, up 3,117 (+0.4 percent) over the year. There were 31,767 unemployed residents in the region.
- In July 2025, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 700,900, an increase of 10,000 jobs (+1.4 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+4,000 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+2,200 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+1,500 jobs); Financial Activities (+1,100 jobs); Government (+1,100 jobs); Other Services (+600 jobs); Manufacturing (+300 jobs); and Information (+100 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.8 percent in July 2025. This rate was equal to the region's year ago rate of 2.8 percent. The region's July 2025 unemployment rate was 1.3 percentage points lower than the state rate of 4.1 percent. The labor force was 1,455,563, up 8,265 (+0.6 percent) over the year. There were 40,297 unemployed residents in the region.
- In July 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,337,000, an increase of 22,100 jobs (+1.7 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+7,400 jobs); Education and Health Services (+5,200 jobs); Mining, Logging, and Construction (+4,500 jobs); Financial Activities (+2,900 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+1,700 jobs); Other Services (+300 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+200 jobs); and Government (+200 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in July 2025, unchanged from the June 2025 rate, and up 0.3 percentage point from a year ago. There were 417,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,196,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in July.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 10,069,000 in July 2025, an increase of 7,300 jobs (+0.1 percent) over the month. The state gained 134,100 jobs over the year, an increase of 1.3 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 1.0 percent over the year.
- Nine major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in July, and one major industry remained unchanged from a year ago.
