Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 4.7 percent in January 2026. This rate was 1.4 percentage points greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.3 percent. The region's January 2026 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 4.9 percent. The labor force was 1,066,188, down 13,778 (- 1.3 percent) over the year. There were 50,601 unemployed residents in the region.
- In January 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 914,800, a decrease of 9,900 jobs (-1.1 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+3,700 jobs) and Government (+800 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 4.9 percent in January 2026. This rate was 1.3 percentage points greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.6 percent. The region's January 2026 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 4.9 percent. The labor force was 771,176, down 8,140 (-1.0 percent) over the year. There were 38,163 unemployed residents in the region.
- In January 2026, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 703,000, a decrease of 5,300 jobs (-0.7 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+3,000 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+400 jobs); and Government (+300 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.6 percent in January 2026. This rate was 0.2 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.4 percent. The region's January 2026 unemployment rate was 2.3 percentage points lower than the state rate of 4.9 percent. The labor force was 1,423,402, down 6,108 (- 0.4 percent) over the year. There were 36,973 unemployed residents in the region.
- In January 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,347,700, a decrease of 5,700 jobs (-0.4 percent) over the year.
- The Education and Health Services (+4,700 jobs) industry gained jobs over the year.

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.5 percent in January 2026, up 0.2 percentage point from the December 2025 rate, and up 1.0 percentage point from a year ago. There were 499,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,124,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in January.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 9,975,300 in January 2026, an increase of 21,400 jobs (+0.2 percent) over the month. The state lost 20,600 jobs over the year, a decrease of 0.2 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 0.2 percent over the year.
- Eight of ten major industries experienced negative over-the-year job growth in January.
