Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 3.4 percent in January 2025. This rate was 0.3 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.1 percent. The region's January 2025 unemployment rate was 0.3 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.7 percent. The labor force was 1,091,243, up 12,874 (+1.2 percent) over the year. There were 37,507 unemployed residents in the region.
- In January 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 930,600, an increase of 8,200 jobs (+0.9 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+3,600 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+2,500 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+2,500 jobs); Government (+2,200 jobs); Other Services (+2,100 jobs); Manufacturing (+300 jobs); and Construction (+200 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 3.7 percent in January 2025. This rate was 0.5 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 3.2 percent. The region's January 2025 unemployment rate was equal to the state rate of 3.7 percent. The labor force was 779,603, up 4,331 (+0.6 percent) over the year. There were 28,826 unemployed residents in the region.
- In January 2025, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 702,800, an increase of 2,000 jobs (+0.3 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+5,500 jobs); Government (+1,200 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+900 jobs); Construction (+200 jobs); Manufacturing (+200 jobs); and Financial Activities (+100 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.4 percent in January 2025. This rate was 0.5 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 1.9 percent. The region's January 2025 unemployment rate was 1.3 percentage points lower than the state rate of 3.7 percent. The labor force was 1,441,653, down 2,527 (-0.2 percent) over the year. There were 33,915 unemployed residents in the region.
- In January 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,347,100, an increase of 26,200 jobs (+2.0 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+7,400 jobs); Education and Health Services (+7,100 jobs); Mining, Logging, and Construction (+3,600 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+3,300 jobs); Government (+1,900 jobs); Other Services (+1,000 jobs); Manufacturing (+900 jobs); Financial Activities (+900 jobs); and Professional and Business Services (+400 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in January 2025, up 0.1 percentage point from the December 2024 rate, and up 0.3 percentage point from a year ago. There were 390,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,188,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.0 percent in January.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 10,018,600 in January 2025, an increase of 16,500 jobs (+0.2 percent) over the month. The state gained 139,000 jobs over the year, an increase of 1.4 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 1.3 percent over the year.
- Nine of ten major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in January.
