Below is the latest data released by FloridaCommerce for Broward County's April 2025 unemployment rate. Also included is information for the South Florida area.



Broward County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Broward region (Broward County) was 3.2 percent in April 2025. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.8 percent. The region's April 2025 unemployment rate was 0.3 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 1,085,636, up 3,550 (+0.3 percent) over the year. There were 35,168 unemployed residents in the region.
- In April 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach-Sunrise MD was 934,400, an increase of 7,900 jobs (+0.9 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+2,300 jobs); Government (+2,100 jobs); Education and Health Services (+2,000 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+1,500 jobs); Other Services (+1,300 jobs); and Manufacturing (+200 jobs).

Palm Beach County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Palm Beach County region (Palm Beach County) was 3.4 percent in April 2025. This rate was 0.5 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.9 percent. The region's April 2025 unemployment rate was 0.1 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 780,664, up 828 (+0.1 percent) over the year. There were 26,573 unemployed residents in the region.
- In April 2025, nonagricultural employment in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Delray Beach MD was 711,100, an increase of 4,600 jobs (+0.7 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+6,200 jobs); Government (+1,700 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+400 jobs); Manufacturing (+100 jobs); and Financial Activities (+100 jobs).

Miami-Dade County¹
- The unemployment rate in the CareerSource South Florida region (Miami-Dade County) was 2.7 percent in April 2025. This rate was 0.4 percentage point greater than the region's year ago rate of 2.3 percent. The region's April 2025 unemployment rate was 0.8 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5 percent. The labor force was 1,440,900, down 1,707 (-0.1 percent) over the year. There were 38,382 unemployed residents in the region.
- In April 2025, nonagricultural employment in the Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall MD was 1,356,200, an increase of 20,900 jobs (+1.6 percent) over the year.
- The industries gaining jobs over the year were Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+7,700 jobs); Education and Health Services (+4,500 jobs); Mining, Logging, and Construction (+4,300 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+2,900 jobs); Government (+800 jobs); Financial Activities (+500 jobs); Other Services (+400 jobs); and Manufacturing (+200 jobs).

State of Florida Unemployment Data
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in April 2025, up 0.1 percentage point from the March 2025 rate, and up 0.4 percentage point from a year ago. There were 410,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 11,203,000. The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in April.
- Florida’s seasonally adjusted total nonagricultural employment was 10,074,300 in April 2025, an increase of 21,300 jobs (+0.2 percent) over the month. The state gained 144,100 jobs over the year, an increase of 1.5 percent. Nationally, the number of jobs rose 1.2 percent over the year.
- All ten major industries experienced positive over-the-year job growth in April.
