CAREERSOURCE BROWARD RECRUITING EMPLOYERS FOR 2026 SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SYEP)
Fully Funded Eight-Week Employment Program, Wages and Training Provided
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – CareerSource Broward (CSBD) invites Broward County employers to register as a worksite for the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), an eight-week workforce initiative that connects local employers with motivated young talent, while CSBD covers their wages and program costs. “SYEP provides a meaningful first step into the workforce by combining real-world work experience with foundational employability training,” said Carol Hylton, President/CEO of CareerSource Broward. “When employers open their doors to young people, they help build confidence, strengthen skills, and introduce career pathways that can change a youth’s future. We welcome Broward County employers to participate and make a direct impact on our future workforce.”
SYEP offers youth ages 16 to 18 the opportunity to earn $14 per hour while working up to 30 hours per week. The program runs from June 8, 2026, to August 4, 2026, placing youth at worksites across Broward County, including government agencies, community organizations, and various businesses. Worksites provide supervision while students develop workplace skills and explore careers.
The program starts with youth completing a three-day employability skills training prior to their first day of work. The training emphasizes job readiness, professionalism, communication, and workplace expectations to help participants succeed from day one.
