WHY WORK AT U.S. BORDER PATROL?
Border Patrol Agents (BPA’s) are focused 24/7 on securing our international land borders and coastal waters between ports of entry.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS MUST:
Be a U.S. Citizen
Have good credit history
Have a valid driver's license
Not have felony convictions
Be eligible to carry a firearm
Not have domestic violence convictions
Meet medical, fitness, and drug testing standards
Have one year of full-time (1820 hours) general work experience for BPA
Pass a structured interview, polygraph exam, and background investigation
Have resided in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years (military exception)
Be referred for selection prior to age 40 (waiver based on Veterans Preference eligibility)
