WHY WORK FOR U.S. BORDER PATROL?
Border Patrol Agents (BPA’s) are focused 24/7 on securing our international land borders and coastal waters between ports of entry. They safeguard the American people from terrorists and their weapons, drug smugglers, and illegal entry of undocumented noncitizens.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS MUST:
Be a U.S. Citizen
Have good credit history
Have a valid driver's license
Not have felony convictions
Be eligible to carry a firearm
Not have domestic violence convictions
Meet medical, fitness, and drug testing standards
Have one year of full-time (1820 hours) general work experience for BPA
Pass a structured interview, polygraph exam, and background investigation
Have resided in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years (military exception)
Be referred for selection prior to age 40 (waiver based on Veterans Preference eligibility)
