WORKSHOP OF THE MONTH: PPN: Résumé Writing Tips & Samples

January 3, 2022 | Filed under: CareerSource Broward News

Writing a résumé can be a daunting task.  Understanding the needs of employers and being able to relate your abilities, skills, and knowledge to those needs are critical steps in writing your résumé.  If you are applying for jobs and not hearing anything back, it is probably not your talents that are missing the mark; more likely, your résumé is lacking the essential elements to show employers why you are a strong choice for their company.

As you write and revise your résumé, there are a number of issues that may be preventing you from getting that interview.  In this 90-minute virtual workshop designed specifically for the professional in career transition, we will discuss the most common résumé mistakes and help you to get your résumé into the “yes” pile!

  • Learn about different résumé styles and how to decide which one is most suitable for you.
  • Learn how to relate your transferable skills to a new job.
  • Learn about Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), how they can prevent you from getting your résumé to the people who need to see it, and recommendations for what you can change.

The “Résumé Writing Tips & Samples” workshop is held on Wednesdays at 10am at no cost to you.  You may register for this or other online workshops at:
