WORKSHOP OF THE MONTH: ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Résumé Preparation

April 1, 2024 | Filed under: CareerSource Broward News

The average hiring manager takes less than 20 seconds to decide whether to throw your résumé in the rejected stack or call you in for an interview.

While unemployment levels may change over time, one thing remains certain: your résumé can make or break your chances to land an interview. As the saying goes, “You only get one chance to make a first impression.” With the current demand for labor, job seekers are at an advantage when it comes to applying for jobs. However, a key factor that sets you apart from other job seekers is a well-written résumé. Employers still want to find and hire the best employees for each open position, and résumés are the first step in that search.

The résumé remains the fundamental tool in your job search, and we want to help you through the process. The CareerSource Broward class on “Résumé Preparation” teaches job seekers how to improve their résumés to increase their chances of landing in the “YES” pile and eventually getting the interview. Let us take you through the step-by-step process of preparing a quality résumé.

Our professional workshop facilitators are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience to provide exceptional tools for helping job seekers get ahead. The “Résumé Preparation” workshop is held both virtually (Mondays at 12pm) and in person at no cost to you.
