Annual Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Event Scheduled For Nov. 18

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nov. 10, 2021 – The CareerSource Broward Council of Elected Officials and the Broward Workforce Development Board, Inc. (BWDB) will host its ninth annual Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Event on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 at the Tamarac Community Center, with over 50 employers confirmed to participate. This free hiring event connects veterans, military families and job seekers with a variety of prominent local employers recruiting for employment opportunities in South Florida. Hosted in partnership with United Way of Broward County's MISSION UNITED and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), the hiring event will be conducted with most employers on-site and others available through virtual conferencing.

"The Paychecks for Patriots hiring event is focused on providing employment opportunities to this special part of our community. We are honored to support our veterans and their families by connecting them with a wide range of employers," said CareerSource Broward President and CEO Carol Hylton.

Paychecks for Patriots is an outstanding opportunity for our veterans looking for work and I encourage them not to miss this event," said Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, Chair of the CareerSource Broward Council of Elected Officials.

The first two hours of the hiring fair (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) will be dedicated to veterans, military spouses, and eligible caregivers and then open to the general public afterward. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with recruiters and apply for jobs on the spot. There will also be an on-site Résumé Café to provide attendees with résumé reviews, administrative assistance and update/printing services. Employers scheduled to participate in the hiring event include Amazon, Broward County Government, Broward Sheriff's Department of Fire Rescue, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, FedEx, Dayton-Granger, Inc., City of Tamarac, City of Sunrise, Florida East Coast Electrical JATC, MasTec and many more.
