Annual Construction Industry Job Fair Held In Oakland Park, Fla.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – May 22, 2019 – CareerSource Broward hosted its 2019 Construction Industry Job fair for individuals seeking a career in one of Florida’s fastest growing targeted business sectors. The annual hiring event aims to help connect job seekers with employment opportunities throughout South Florida.

More than 20 employers from the South Florida region participated in the job fair, including Broward County government, Advanced Roofing Inc., Allegiance Crane & Equipment, DPR Construction, JL Audio and more. Available positions at the hiring event included HVAC technician, electrician, project manager, crane operator, landscaper, commercial roofing apprenticeship instructor, roofing specialist and more.

The construction industry sector continues to experience growth across the state. Recent data from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity shows there are currently 47,600 construction-related jobs in Broward County, and according to JobsEQ, the average annual wage is $50,140. There are currently more than 554,900 individuals employed in the construction industry throughout the state – a 3.8% increase from March 2018.
