CareerSource Broward Unveils New Administrative Office

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – April 25, 2019 – Today, CareerSource Broward hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the official unveiling of its new administrative office, located at 2890 West Cypress Creek Rd. in Fort Lauderdale.

The event featured several guests, including Broward County Commissioner Tim Ryan; City of Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy; City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis; Dr. Lisa Knowles, chair of the Broward Workforce Development Board Inc.; and other representatives from local community organizations. Following the ceremony, attendees were able to tour the new facility and meet with staff who provided information about the various services and programs carried out by the workforce development agency.

“Throughout the years, CareerSource Broward has continued to uphold its values of delivering quality services, which consistently and effectively meet the workforce needs of our region,” said Dr. Lisa Knowles, chair of the Broward Workforce Development Board Inc. “The advantages to us having this new building are that it will be saving taxpayers money and it allows staff to be best positioned for success. We commend CareerSource Broward for their many achievements that have positively contributed to our growing business climate.”

Located just west of I-95, the new 20,000-square-foot facility was purchased in 2016 and has since been completely renovated. The building – which features hurricane impact windows, energy-efficient thermostats, LED fixtures, Wi-Fi access and an executive board conference room equipped with multi-monitor stands – accommodates nearly 60 staff members who provide operational guidance to CareerSource Broward’s three career centers: North center in Coconut Creek, Fla.; Central center in Oakland Park, Fla.; and South center in Hollywood, Fla.

“Access to a sustainable pipeline of skilled workers remains a top priority for companies that want to expand and thrive – no matter the size,” said Broward County Commissioner and chair of the CareerSource Broward Council of Elected Officials Tim Ryan. “By working to bridge the talent gap between employers and job seekers, we can create an integrated workforce system that encourages strong job growth, economic prosperity and employment opportunities for residents right here in Broward County.”

In 2018, CareerSource Broward served over 41,000 distinct customers with employment services such as direct job placements, professional development workshops, financial assistance for career training and more. The agency also conducted nearly 450 recruitment events for employers throughout South Florida, including Broward County Public Schools, Advanced Roofing Inc., Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
