CareerSource Broward’s Economic and Labor Market Analysis Sheds Light on Local Workforce

August 31, 2022

Fort Lauderdale, FL. – August 31, 2022 – CareerSource Broward released a study to help guide local labor market resource investment as well as economic and workforce assessment. The Economic and Labor Market Analysis examines four key foundational elements including local economic conditions, a demographic overview of the region as well as expected industry growth and quality of life considerations. This study enhances the economic data available from the State of Florida as well as the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.

“The economic health of Broward County and smart workforce development investments are at the core of what we do at CareerSource Broward,” said President and CEO Carol Hylton. “The importance of studies like this, which provide extremely valuable data and guidance to help us to facilitate a thriving Broward County economy and an efficient, agile workforce cannot be emphasized enough.”

CareerSource Broward is sharing the study to assist local businesses and policymakers in understanding and shaping Broward’s future.

The study’s assessment of Broward County industries found several sectors with a particularly high rate of growth: hospitality and leisure, education and health services, professional and business services; trade, transportation, and utilities; and financial services. Knowing these categories of growth helps CareerSource Broward to identify and offer resources for training in emerging jobs thereby expanding the supply of prepared workers, and also provides insight into those occupations and skill sets with declining demand.
