AUDIT COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

The incumbent will coordinate all audits; ensure timely accurate completion of all elements of the audit and assist with other Fiscal Department processes as needed.

  • Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Business Relations, QA and Executive staff as it relates to fiscal audits or monitoring activities and collect needed documentation and information to enable the performance of external, 3rd party monitoring.
  • Assist the Finance Department so external auditors can perform various monitoring and to resolve issues as they arise during the monitoring process.
  • Assist the Finance Department to follow-up, track, record and address all corrective actions related to findings by federal, state or other 3rd party auditors or monitors.
  • Prepare memorandums for the Board to reflect the results of external, 3rd party monitoring.
  • Conduct internal monitoring of the provision of pre-paid support cards and prepare reports of findings and observations that identify areas and risks of identified non-compliance.
  • Prepare draft budgets for grant applications for the review by the department heads of finance and quality assurance.
  • Assist in analyzing budgets, identifying variances, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Business Relations and QA Departments and Executive Office to recommend changes to policies, procedures or practices to ensure compliance of CareerSource Broward (CSBD) and/or to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist the Fiscal department with various administrative and fiscal related projects as needed, to ensure the efficient operation of the department .
  • Participate in agency’s quality improvement initiatives with a continuous focus on strategic planning and improving customer service.
  • Assist with designing and administering customer satisfaction surveys and distributing reports as needed.
  • Communicate with coworkers, management, staff, clients, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions for internal controls.
  • Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence, emails, and faxes.
  • May be assigned other responsibilities on a temporary or ongoing basis as necessary for the delivery of quality service and/or ensuring the financial compliance for CSBD as an organization.

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration or a related field plus at least three years of applicable experience in accounting or finance with one year of experience in a legal, regulatory, compliance or audit-related position.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), risk management, commercial insurance and grant-reporting requirements is necessary. Knowledge of OMB circulars and general cost allocation principles as they relate to workforce development preferred.

Incumbent must analyze complex data, interpret, explain, and apply applicable laws, rules regulations, and policies controlling budgetary and fiscal record keeping. Incumbent must interpret and provide accurate financial data to management to better enable them to make data-based business decisions. The ability to use administrative principles and practices including goal setting, strategic planning, program development, implementation, evaluation, and management of employees is necessary.
